have you tried to rollback the previous firmware version and see if the problem disappeared?
It could be due to some changes on the new firmware.

If it works with the previous firmware I suggest you to keep on using that firmware instead of the new one.
You could contact Ruckus support asking if they changed the port or the method used for the login.

So if you need the new Ruckus firmware, i am sorry but you have to ask to them if they changed something (ports, URL to call, etc.) on login procedure and then let us know.
HSNM version is the same. You only changed the firmware version of your Ruckus. So, for sure, there is something different between the two Ruckus firmware.
You need Ruckus to investigate this.
